Why are we walking?
In September 2025, our family got some unexpected news- Daz was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease at 56.
To say it came as a shock is an understatement. Like most families, we had a lot of questions (and if we’re honest, we still do). But if there’s one thing Darren has shown us from day one, it’s how to face this with strength and faith.
Parkinson’s may now be part of our lives, but it hasn’t changed the heart of our family. We’re learning as we go, taking things one day at a time, and finding moments to laugh along the way.
We’re walking to raise awareness for Parkinson’s, to support research, and to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Most of all, we’re walking for Darren, who continues to take this all in his stride and remind us what resilience really looks like.

Our team is so excited to take part in the 2026 A Walk in the Park Geelong for Fight Parkinson's on Sunday May 3rd. The event is helping to lift the lid on Parkinson’s and raising awareness and funds to support the Parkinson’s community.
When the Parkinson’s community stands united, we can empower each other to make a difference. A Walk in the Park provides the opportunity to stand together to be seen, heard and understood. Together we can say more, do more, be more. Let’s fight Parkinson’s together.

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects people from all walks of life. It is quite common, with approximately 219,000 Australians, including over 57,000 Victorians living with Parkinson’s.
