I am so excited to take part in the 2024 A Walk in the Park for Fight Parkinson's on Sunday April 21st. The event is helping to lift the lid on Parkinson’s and raising awareness and funds to support the Parkinson’s community.

When the Parkinson’s community stands united, we can empower each other to make a difference. A Walk in the Park provides the opportunity to stand together to be seen, heard and understood. Together we can say more, do more, be more. Let’s fight Parkinson’s together.

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects people from all walks of life. It is quite common, with approximately 219,000 Australians, including over 57,000 Victorians living with Parkinson’s.

Wow what a wonderful day. Thanks to everyone who supported me and generously donated. 

Particularly I would like to show my appreciation for Melanie, Cathryn, Murray, Flan and Nug who all joined me on the walk. You’re awesome 🤩 

Walking exercise

Thursday 11th Apr
As part of my diagnosis I have been working on my fitness and co-ordination. 

I’m proud to confirm that since December I have averaged over 9,500 steps per day for an average daily length of 7.5kms.

My goal is the get to a level where I can walk 18 holes of golf two days in a row on our annual golf weekend in August

Hi All,

I have recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and am at the beginning of my journey. I am learning more and more about the symptoms and what I can do to improve my health - Physiotherapy, exercise, stretching and lots of walking.
