Parkinson's.

It effects everyone differently. For my family, friends and I: The 2025 A Walk in the Park for Fight Parkinson's, on Sunday April 27th, is personal.

My journey with Young Onset Parkinson's Disease began in 2018 at age 31. When the diagnosis came, I took it in stride, not fully understanding the scope of it's effects on myself and my loved ones. Seven years have passed and it has and will continue to be a long, shared journey.

Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that affects people from all walks of life. It is quite common, with approximately 219,000 Australians, including over 57,000 Victorians living with Parkinson’s.

This is my second fundraiser and my first as a dad.

Tuesday 22nd Apr
The biggest challenge on my journey with Parkinson's so far, has also been the most rewarding: becoming a dad. 
Five years after the first symptoms started, I I underwent Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery. Ten months later, my partner Rose and I brought a little boy into the world.
He will be walking alongside his dad and family and the entire Parkinson's community at A Walk in the Park 2025.
